Chevy Bolt 2027 EV Spy Photos Hint at Bigger Screens and a Modern Dashboard

The countdown to the launch of Chevrolet’s next-generation Bolt EV has officially begun. With production confirmed to start before the end of 2025, spy photographers have now given us our first real look inside the upcoming 2027 model. These images suggest Chevy is preparing a major interior overhaul that will push the Bolt EV into a more modern, tech-forward era.

Bigger Screens, Smarter Layout

When the previous Bolt rolled off the line in 2023, it was equipped with an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster tucked inside a bulky housing, paired with a 10.2-inch infotainment screen at the center. In the 2027 prototype, both displays look significantly larger.

  • The digital gauge cluster now takes on a wider, rectangular format similar to the setup in the Chevy Equinox EV, giving the driver more digital real estate.
  • The infotainment system retains a familiar placement, but the display itself appears to stretch deeper into the bezels, offering a cleaner, more immersive experience.

Redesigned Dashboard and Controls

The upgrades aren’t limited to the screens. Chevy has completely rethought the dashboard design. A new gear-selector stalk, mounted behind the steering wheel, replaces the old push-button shifter. This change clears up valuable space between the front seats, which now feature a practical cupholder-armrest combination.

The HVAC controls have also been updated. They remain button-and-dial based for easy usability but look to be borrowed from the GMC Canyon’s parts bin, suggesting GM is streamlining components across its portfolio for consistency and cost efficiency.

A Fresh Start for an EV Favorite

Chevrolet retired the original Bolt in 2023, but customer demand for an affordable EV with everyday practicality never really went away. Bringing the Bolt back with a new interior, larger displays, and smarter ergonomics indicates that Chevy is listening to its fan base and adapting to a competitive EV market.

Chevy has not revealed the full specs or pricing yet, but production is confirmed for late 2025. More details are expected to drop this fall, when the automaker is likely to share a pricing breakdown, trim options, and battery performance updates. If early signs are any indication, the 2027 Bolt EV could once again become one of the most budget-friendly electric vehicles in North America.
